This is the one number we can verify. We don't break it into categories, and we won't inflate it with anything we can't stand behind.
What that number means
Not a case number. Not a category. A veteran, or someone in their family, who picked up the phone or sent a message on a day that was probably harder than most — and got connected to real help: a counselor, a lawyer, a place to stay, someone who didn't make them explain themselves twice.
We don't track that number by category, because our rule for this page is simple: the total is what matters, not how it breaks down. What we can tell you is that each one represents a moment where someone asked, and someone answered.

This month we honor
“Where heroes walk together”
Walking With Honor began with one service dog named Honor. During a difficult and isolating period after military service, Honor became more than a working dog — she became a lifeline. That partnership revealed the power of ethical service-dog work to change and save lives. Walking With Honor exists to ensure veterans are not alone and shelter dogs are given purpose, training, and respect.
